This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and accomplished postdoctoral scientist to join the group of Professor Rami Aqeilan at the Cyprus Cancer Research Institute (CCRI).

Job Overview:
The successful applicant will pursue their own research projects in the field of Molecular Basis of Cancer under Professor Aqeilan’s supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, perform, drive and publish high quality research in the field of genomic instability and translational medicine.
- Write scientific manuscripts and grant proposals.
- Participate in the laboratory’s day-to-day activities, protocols, and procedures.
- Keep appropriate experimental records and documentation.
- Hold regular meetings with the Group Leader to analyse & interpret results.
- Develop, import, adapt and implement new research techniques and protocols.
- Dissemination of research results in regular group meetings, scientific conferences, and journal publications.
- Day-to-day supervision of trainees, PhD students and visitors where required.
- Work closely with other CCRI scientists to conduct collaborative research, share ideas and come up with solutions to scientific problems.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Cancer Research, Computational Biology or a related field.
Desirable specialist knowledge and skills:
- Postdoctoral experience in a relevant field would be an asset.
- Expertise in genetic screening will be an asset.
- Bioinformatics skills are highly preferred.
- Experience in grant and manuscript writing.

Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in Greek will be an advantage.
